what's the average price of a dvd of a really successful movie down there?

like, what would you pay for a new copy of Silence of the Lambs on dvd?
or a LotR box set...(expanded edition)

not counting sales and shit...

since I'm new to the whole dvd thing, I always kinda feel I'm getting ripped off.
well, not getting ripped off, cuz I won't spend the cash, but some prices seem REALLY high...
like that Owen Wilson/Jackie Chan flick?
the 1st they did together?

CH is easy to deal with...
I've taken almost 100 cd's from them, and payed maybe $50....

anyways, so $9 was okay?
unused...

the thing that gets me, is I saw the VHS for $3....

I knwo the dvd is supposed to be nicer, but it's pretty hard to scratch a vhs tape...

I dunno...I think we're all getting fucked here.

Beta was GREAT quality, and Sony fucking killed it...
now we gotta buy those movies AGAIN?!?

bugger it.
I'll keep my Alien box set on VHS....

I mean, I paid more to buy the dvd of ...Lambs than I paid for me and my date to get into the fucking movie....

$9, yeah, but still...it's the ideal, not the total...

spend a little money on a DVD burner for your PC and sign up for a monthly unlimited rental deal somewhere and you're all set [img]smile.gif[/img]

Around my area, the longer you wait, the cheaper they get. A new and popular movie might be around $19.99 when it comes out, wait a year (if you can) and it gets down around $15 or less.
The box sets...I dunno.

I actually think DVD prices are a bit better up here than they are in the states.

I just bought a dual-layer DVD burner myself, but I'm waiting until the 8 GB discs come down in price a bit so I can make a true copy of DVDs.

Dude, try the previously viewed from Rogers,VHQ,Blockbuster etc, all under 20 bah and you can take em back if they play poorly or not at all [img]smile.gif[/img]
